Death Waits for None, 2022
You are Death, and you're running late for work. Find and kill the mortals at their appointed time or you're fired!
This project was made in the Spring 2022 quarter of my Junior year at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was a solo tech project in Professor Wood's 266-01 Core Principles: Game Tech course. In this class, we pitched and designed a prototype of a game around one word and theme. I chose the word "reap" and the theme of the inevitability of death. I created blueprints of my mechanics and sequences to establish the narrative and gameplay: reading the Book of Death and locating mortals, interacting with npcs for dialogue, striking objects and bats for pickups, and striking the correct mortal at their proper time of death, all before time runs out resulting in game over. I did not create the art in this prototype I used assets from Sketchfab, Freesound, and the Unity store after making slight modifications to them in Maya Mixamo, and Blender. I rigged and animated the skeleton arms and the bats in Blender. All credit for these assets goes to their respective artists.
Tools used include: Maya, Blender, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine.
